this song originally started out as a love song, but it ended up turning into a bit of a story...! i find that i love telling stories within my songs, and this was one of the first times i had truly explored that.

this song tells a story of healing. the "quiet nymph," fernine, recognizes that yes, she has found herself lost within this forest, but her recovery is not measured by the position she's in now– it is measured by all that she has overcome and been through. she made it through! she persevered even in the hurt, grief, and confusion of it all, and... she got to where she is now! even if the distance she has traveled seems to be unsubstantial, she knows the experiences and hurts she endured along the way are what make her journey incredible.
